On 17th July myself, LL, my three girlfriends and their little ones headed to Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham to see In the Night Garden Live. It was LL’s first time seeing a show and it was very exciting! It was such a fabulous day, we had a lovely picnic afterwards in the sunshine and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We got parked fairly easily and the arena wasn’t too much of a walk away from the car. Cannon Hill Park is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have such a beautiful sunny day. The arena itself is amazing… an inflatable bubble you just can’t wait to get inside and explore! It was very light and airy and there were refreshments and merchandise available to purchase. The staff we very friendly and handed out activity booklets to the children. There is a special buggy parking area which I thought was fantastic! As we went into the main arena there were fairy lights everywhere and it was air conditioned, which was heaven!
The toilets were right next to the arena and were spotlessly clean, which is a massive plus is my book! The baby changing area was fab too, and there were plenty of clean changing mats on tables along with baby wipes and nappy sacks. It’s perfect for families and was so organised, you don’t have to worry about anything, it was so straightforward from start to finish.
The show itself was magical. There are two shows available to see, and the one we attended was about Macca Pacca washing everyone’s faces and then losing his sponge. Myself and the girls said how emotional we all felt when the show started. The atmosphere was really special and as soon as the music started my eyes welled up. My heart ached seeing LL’s face light up, she was so excited. It’s very surreal sitting there listening and watching in real life the show that your child adores so much. Seeing the real life Iggle Piggle was LL’s highlight I think! The puppeteer’s were brilliant and had very animated faces which was funny. They blended into the show and characters, and the whole thing was very enjoyable. It lasted just under an hour and LL sat through it really well until the last ten minutes when she wanted to crawl around.
I’d thoroughly recommend attending the show! All the information you need is on the website, https://www.nightgardenlive.com
